Get to Know Me
Hi! My name is Kathi Nixon and I am a recently retired high school teacher. I taught theatre, public speaking, and English for 34 years in Johnston County. I have also been playing piano for over 50 years and have served as a church pianist and organist. I have played and taught guitar for over 50 years and have recorded in Nashville and played with various local bands. I have also played bass in various musical groups and enjoy playing bluegrass, blues, jazz, and rock. I play a variety of styles and we can talk about the style you are most interested in.

As a drama teacher, I have coached students who are auditioning for roles. I have directed over 50 plays in my career and I have acted in many community theatre productions, including Doubt (Sister Aloysius), The Wizard of Oz (The Wicked Witch), The Lion in Winter (Queen Eleanor), and Clue (Mrs. Peacock), to name a few recent roles. I enjoy working with students on scene studies, and would enjoy prepping students for upcoming auditions.
